Audi Catalytic Converter
In order to reduce emissions, there is a need to control the amount of fuel burned. With the increase in number of cars in the market today, there is an automatic increase in emissions. That does not necessarily mean we can just leave the increased pollutants to harm our environment. What we can do is make sure your Audi is equipped with a well performing catalytic converter.
The catalytic converter is a device made to clean the exhaust before it comes out of the car. The major by-products of combustion are harmless but because the process of combustion is not perfect, then a smaller amount of harmful substances are emitted too. These harmful gases are the hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide. What the catalytic converter does is transform the harmful substances into less harmful ones using two kinds of catalysts, the reduction and the oxidation catalysts. The reduction catalyst converts the nitrogen oxides to nitrogen and oxygen. The oxidation catalyst then burns out the hydrocarbons and carbon monoxides to carbon dioxide and water. The oxygen sensor checks the air and fuel mixture being burned.
Your Audi Catalytic Converter can suffer from catalyst poisoning and become ineffective in the presence of lead. Some conditions like a crack in the valves, oil in the exhaust system or ignition failure all of which can cause the catalytic converter to overheat and meltdown. In these cases, replacement should be done. Replacing doesn’t have to be expensive or a headache. All our Audi Catalytic Converters are made to meet or surpass OE specifications. The superior quality of our catalytic converters does not mean expensive. You can avail these top-of-the-line Audi Catalytic Converters at affordable prices.
